multimillionaire ken griffin is relocating its large hedge fund firm Citadel from Chicago to Miami, the third major employer to announce a corporate headquarters move from Illinois in the past two months.
In a letter to employees on Thursday that was seen by The Wall Street Journal, Griffin said he had personally relocated to Florida and that his market-making business, Citadel Securities, would transfer as well. She wrote that she sees Florida as a better corporate environment, and while she didn’t specifically mention crime as a factor, company officials said it was a consideration.
