Lightning question legality of Avalanche OT goal

TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Bay Lightning coach Jon Cooper answered a question during his postgame press session. Without going into detail about whether Colorado had too many men on the ice, he suggested the Avalanche’s overtime goal shouldn’t have counted.

“This one is going to hurt a lot more than others,” Cooper said Wednesday night after a 3-2 loss in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final. “It’s hard for me. It’s going to be hard for me to talk. I’m going to have to talk. I’ll talk to you tomorrow. You’ll see what I mean when you see the winning goal. And my heart breaks for the players because we probably should still be playing. I will be available tomorrow.
