Roger Goodell testifies before Congress: Live updates

In his prepared remarks for the House Oversight and Reform Committee on Wednesday, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell says the Washington Commanders’ work culture has undergone a “substantial transformation” since the NFL-sponsored investigation, led by attorney Beth Wilkinson, about the team.

“It is clear to me that the workplace in Washington was unprofessional and unacceptable in many respects: intimidation, pervasive disrespect for colleagues, use of demeaning language, public shaming, and harassment,” the prepared comments read, in part. Goodell. “Furthermore, for an extended period of time, commanders had a woefully poor human resources function, particularly with respect to reporting and record-keeping practices.”
